Jana Vasilenko

Jana Vassilenko graduated from the Academy of Music in Minsk (Belarussia). Her genres are: Russian folk songs, Russian romances , Russian ((geistliche Musik)), acoustic folk-rock und renaissance songs.

From 1989 to 1992 she was a member of the group „Bu-Buffet“ performing in Moscow and numerous other cities. In 1990 the group was award-winner at the all-Russian festival in Kiev. From 1990 to 1995 she was a singer of “Duett 193“, in 1993 this duo toured the Boston area (USA). In 1994 she gave several solo-concerts in Berlin.

Since 1990 she has regularly played at the annual international Moscow festival for acoustic music with the groups “Bu-Buffet“, “Rasnotravije“, “Duett 193“ und “Jana&Co.“

Since 2001 she has lived in Switzerland and performed with a variety of ensembles. She also teaches vocals and the piano.

Since 2003 she has conducted the Russian choir „White Nights“, Zürich.
